Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.

Hispanic Heritage Month Kick-Off: September 15 – 3:30PM @ Pence Center
Join us for a kick-off celebration for HHM! We will have a mariachi band, folklorico dancers, and guest speaker, CAC Alum, Dora Vasquez to share her wisdom. Refreshments from Taco King provided at the reception.
Hispanic Heritage Month Movie Night Series: September 23/30 & October 7 – 7PM @ Signal Peak Campus; I-401
Come out and watch three movies highlighting Hispanic Heritage Month. Encanto, Coco, and Selena will be shown. Popcorn and refreshments available. Free entry.
Loteria Night: September 27 – 6PM @ Signal Peak Campus; I. Bldg. Vaquero Lounge
A night to play Loteria and win prizes. Color sugar skulls. Enjoy music and refreshments! Refreshments from La Michocana available for purchase.
Cultural Speaker Series – Saul Flores: October 5 – 4PM @ Virtual; Click here for access to the event
Be a part of this dynamic speaker presentation for Hispanic Heritage Month. Saul Flores is a philanthropist, photojournalist, and speaker who is nationally recognized for his social impact projects.
Fiesta Night: October 15 – 6PM @ Signal Peak Campus
Join us for an event filled night with music, food, and games!
What started at the turn of the century as an effort to gain a day of recognition for the significant contributions the first Americans made to the establishment and growth of the U.S., has resulted in a whole month being designated for that purpose.
