Dual Enrollment
Dual Enrollment (DE) permits high school students to start earning college credit while in high school.Ā Special DE classes are held at the high school during the regular high school day to qualified high school students, who meet the eligibility requirements and academic prerequisites, register properly and pay tuition and fees.
SeveralĀ Pinal County high schools partner with Central Arizona College by offering Dual Enrollment classes.Ā Students should please ask their high school guidance counselor if DE classes are available at their high school.
While there are advantages to getting a jump start on higher education, students and parents should seriously consider college class expectations.Ā Grades posted to a college transcript will follow the student for life and will affect future opportunities for employment, financial aid, and academics.

What is the difference between Early College and Dual Enrollment?
Traditional CAC Dual Enrollment programming is offered to students on their high school campus, during their normal school day, and during their high school class schedule. A high school instructor who has been approved by CAC to teach a college level course at your high school typically teaches Dual Enrollment courses. Dual Enrollment students are responsible for tuition and books or your high school may arrange to assist with course expenses.
Early College programming provides access to CAC classes for Pinal County high school juniors and seniors to take. Courses are offered through various modalities through your local CAC campus. The Early College program allows for a 5-credit tuition waive per semester, for those who meet program eligibility requirements.
How do I get started?
Students will need to start by completing an admissions application, registration form, and dual enrollment form:
